WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

Applicants must be a current Oak Creek High School student who identifies as LGBTQ+, graduates the year that the scholarship is awarded, and will be attending college the following school year.

WHAT IS THE AMOUNT?

A single scholarship in the amount of

 $10,000

 will be awarded annually.

The Oak Creek Safe Space Scholarship will recognize the academic and service achievements of students at Oak Creek High School who are members of the LGBTQ+ community.

A $10,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to one student at Oak Creek High School who is a member of the LGBTQ+ community and has shown academic success and has proactively made Oak Creek High School a safe space for LGBTQ+ students.

HOW DO I APPLY ?

A completed application and essay must be submitted to the Oak Creek Scholarship Foundation between January 15th and March 15th.

To apply for the scholarship, complete the application on our website and mail the completed application and essay to the Oak Creek Scholarship Foundation. 

WHAT CAN I USE THE SCHOLARSHIP FOR?

The $10,000 scholarship may be used for college tuition, books, room and board.

  • How Do I Apply?

    Yes, the application is ONLY being accepted as a printed and mailed application.

  • When Is The Recipient Selected And Notified?

    The recipient will be selected by April 15th and notified by April 30th. The Oak Creek Scholarship Foundation will contact the recipient directly.

  • How Will I Receive The Scholarship?

    The recipient’s college of choice will receive a check that is made payable to the college for the benefit of the recipient.

  • What Can I Use The Scholarship For?

    The $10,000 scholarship may be used for college tuition, books, room and board.

  • Is The Scholarship Only Available To Graduating Students At Oak Creek High School?

    Yes. The student must also identify as a member of the LGBTQ+ community.

  • Can The Award Be Deferred?

    No. The award will be paid to the college the following academic year unless the recipient is enlisted in the United States Military.


    For example: An award made in 2024 must be used for the 2024-2025 school year. If a balance remains after eligible expenses, the recipient shall use that balance in the following school year(s).
